This year marked Tilly’s second Royal Show and Carrie’s very first, making it a big and exciting day for our little team.

The chaos kicked off the night before when I realised I hadn’t purchased parking with my entries. Rookie mistake. A quick check showed all parking was booked out, and panic quickly set in. How was I going to unload all my gear, get the dogs into the pavilion, find somewhere to park, and make it back inside before 8am?
Enter my wonderful partner Ben, who immediately volunteered to be our driver for the day. This meant him waking up at an absolutely ungodly hour so we could arrive on time, handling the car and parking logistics, and then staying with us all day, as dogs must remain in the pavilion from 8am to 5pm. Super dog dad behaviour, always. I am endlessly grateful for his support of my slightly crazy dog dreams 💛

The Sydney Royal is a huge show, and it can be incredibly overstimulating. Kids screaming on rides, rides whooshing overhead, a hot and noisy pavilion, and members of the public constantly walking through to meet and interact with the dogs. It’s loud, it’s busy, and it’s a very long day, but these girls absolutely love it.
They took everything in their stride, unfazed by the chaos and mostly just concerned about when their next snack might appear. Their calm, happy attitudes made the day so much easier and reminded me why I love doing this with them.
The girls also loved meeting the public, handing out plenty of kisses and happily accepting endless pats. We’re always more than happy to chat with people about our dogs and responsible purebred breeding, and days like this are such a lovely opportunity to do that.
Both girls performed beautifully in the ring. Carrie placed second in her class, which was such a great result for her first Royal Show experience 🥈
Tilly was the star of the day, taking first place in the Junior Bitch Class. She was up against some truly beautiful girls, and pulling out the win was incredibly exciting and a moment I’ll always remember 🏵️✨
The Sydney Royal photographers never disappoint. Ingrid Matschke and Kerri Ann Afford absolutely smashed it again in 2025, capturing some stunning moments from the day 📸
Of course, the Royal wouldn’t be half as fun without great company. With Kim and Teresa, there is always a guaranteed good time. Even something as simple as taking a group photo turns into one of the funniest memories. Bonus points if you spot Perry peeping in the background of our team photo 😂🐾
