GRCV Specialty Show 2026
We had a wonderful weekend down in Melbourne for the Golden Retriever Club of Victoria Specialty Shows, with Twig, Carrie and Tilly along for the adventure! 🧡
Specialty weekends are always something to look forward to. There’s something lovely about spending a whole weekend surrounded by Golden Retrievers and people who love the breed just as much as we do. Add in catching up with friends, plenty of laughs and some very special results, and this was certainly a trip to remember.
Saturday was the girls’ day to shine
Under judge Mrs Melissa Loverock (UK), Twig and Carrie both had a wonderful day in the ring.

To have my very own homebred baby win at a Specialty Show is a dream come true and certainly a moment I won’t forget anytime soon.
Twig is from our very first Tweedkin litter, which makes this achievement even more special. There’s so much love, thought and work that goes into breeding and raising a litter, and watching one of those puppies grow up and be recognised in the show ring is an incredibly proud moment. She’s still only at the beginning of her journey, and I’m so excited to see what’s ahead for our little girl.

Carrie also gave us plenty to celebrate! When she’s not chewing through my fingers, she is an absolute pleasure to show and present. Always happy, joyful and full of personality, she certainly keeps me entertained.
That is, unless it’s the end of the day and I want a photo with the judge when Carrie has already well and truly clocked off. Apparently, posing for photos is overtime, and she hadn’t agreed to that! 😂
Another lovely day on Sunday
Sunday saw all three girls in the ring under judge Ms Margaret Dalos (SA), with another lovely set of results:

🩷 Carrie: 2nd Intermediate Bitch
🧡 Tilly: 2nd Australian Bred Bitch
I was so proud of the girls across the weekend.
A huge congratulations to the Giltedge team on their wonderful results over the weekend, with an extra special congratulations to Carrie’s brother, Giltedge Looking At You, “Larry” who won Best In Specialty Show! It was lovely to share in the celebrations and see the extended Giltedge family doing so well. 🧡
