Carrie’s Journey to Australian Champion

There are some milestones that feel a little extra special, and this is certainly one of them.

I am so incredibly proud to share that Carrie has officially gained the final points needed to be awarded her Australian Champion title, now known as

✨ Australian Champion Giltedge Looking Fine ✨

Carrie’s journey in the show ring has been nothing short of amazing. From her very first steps as a baby puppy to finishing her title in the Junior class, she has consistently shown her quality, presence, and undeniable spirit. Along the way, she has achieved multiple Best of Breed wins, class in group awards, and even some beautiful in show results.

What makes this achievement even more exciting is that Carrie earned her final points while still competing as a Junior and I truly feel like this is only the beginning for her. I cannot wait to see what the future holds as she continues to mature.

Carrie’s show career has been filled with memorable moments, including:

  • Baby Puppy in Group – Rydal A H & P Association (8 February 2025)

  • Minor in Group – Robertson Agricultural Show (15 Mar 2025) under Miss Caroline Stuart (NSW)

  • Minor in Show – Golden Retriever Club of NSW Inc. Show 2 (8 June 2025) under Miss A Cooper (UK)

  • BCC, RUBOB, Puppy in Group – Rylstone Kandos & District Dog Club Inc (AM Show) (19 July 2025) under Mrs Rosemary Weaver (NZ)

  • BCC, BOB, Puppy in Group, 3rd in 6–12 Months Sweepstakes – Rylstone Kandos & District Dog Club Inc (20 July 2025) under Mr Chris Graham (NZ)

  • BOB, Junior in Group – Orange & District Kennel & Obedience Club Inc (29 November 2025) under Miss B Daines (NSW)

  • BOB, Junior in Group, Junior in Show – Orange & District Kennel & Obedience Club Inc (30 November 2025) under Mrs V Carter (SA), General Specials by Miss B Daines (NSW)

  • BOB, Junior in Group – Rydal A H & P Association (7 February 2026) under Mr Roger Ellis (NSW)

Each of these results represents not just a win, but a moment in time.. early mornings, long drives, laughter ringside, and the quiet pride of watching her do what she loves.

No journey like this is ever done alone.

A very special mention must go to Kim Handley, who not only bred Carrie but also made this entire journey possible. What started as an opportunity to have a bit of fun in the show ring quickly turned into something so much more and I will forever be grateful to Kim for trusting me with her. Being officially gifted Carrie as a Christmas present is something I will never forget, and truly the best Christmas present I have ever received.

I am endlessly grateful to Kim Handley and Teresa Anderson, who have been such an important part of Carrie’s story. From their guidance and tips in the ring to the countless laughs and shared memories along the way, their support has meant more than words can say.
